Between Breukelen and the Staten Eiland, carrying 13 traffic lanes, straddles the Verrazano Narrows Bridge.
Breukelen is now pronounced Brooklyn. Staten Island, one of New York’s five boroughs, is one of the world’s two islands named after the Dutch Staten Generaal parliament in The Hague. The other one is off the coast of Argentina, at the southernmost tip of South America.
